Hennessey Venom GT: One of the fastest cars
The Hennessey Venom GT is a sports car manufactured by Hennessey Performance Engineering. It was revealed on March 29, 2010.
The Venom GT is based on a highly modified Lotus Exige chassis. The Venom GT is powered by a twin-turbocharged version of the General Motors' 6.2 L (380 cu in) LS9 V8 that can be found in the Chevrolet Corvette C6 ZR1. The modified engine will produce 1,200 bhp (890 kW) and 1,155 lb-ft. Engine power output is adjustable by three settings: 800 bhp (600 kW), 1,000 bhp (750 kW) and 1,200 bhp (890 kW).[3] The mid-engine V8 is mated to the rear wheels with a Ricardo plc 6-speed transmission. Hennessey claims that the car can achieve a top speed of 272 mph (437 km/h), although this has never been tested.
